Ssaru Opens up on Battle with Old Management, Losing YouTube Channel

Fast-rising Kenyan artist Ssaru has opened up on her battle with her old management including how she lost her YouTube channel. Speaking during a candid interview with Kipawa podcast, Ssaru revealed that she lost her official YouTube channel to her former manager following some misunderstandings she had with him.

“It’s the previous manager who alichukua YouTube channel yangu. So alieka kila kitu private. We had some misunderstanding, hizi misunderstanding za management, you know. He did what he did, alinisukuma penye angeweza, tulifanya kenye tungefanya, but now am here,”she said.

Describing how she felt after losing the channel, Ssaru showcased maturity by citing the positive and negative effects of losing access to her YouTube channel.

Choosing to focus more on the positive side, Ssaru stated that the loss enabled her to broaden her perspective on her music releases.

“It didn’t feel good of course because enyewe ni effort yangu, ni mimi nilitunga hizo mangoma. But pia I think after yeye kuninyang’anya hiyo channel alinipanua akili kutoa ngoma zenye zinamake sense zaidi. Nafeel nikama alikuwa ananiekanga level fulani yenye siko hapo, alikuwa amenifungia kwa box,”she explained.

Currently, Ssaru is flying high with her latest jam ‘Rhumba Ya Ssaru, which premiered over a month ago featuring Charisma. ‘Rhumba ya Ssaru’ is a love song depicting a long pre-existing relationship of a couple that had lost contact with each other and managed to come together after a long while.
