Wizkid's Made in Lagos Peaks at #1 on Billboard World Album Chart

Wizkid’s flourishing career in the global music industry has hit a new milestone after his 2020-released album ‘Made In Lagos’ reached the number one spot on the Billboard World Album Chart this week.

The album has been performing well on the chart and has spent an impressive 41 weeks. Last week it was ranked at #3 and moved two places up to #1 this week, becoming Wizkid’s first-ever number 1 album.

Wizkid Shares Made in Lagos Deluxe Album Tracklist

Aside from topping the Billboard World Album Chart, ‘Made In Lagos’ also reached a new peak on the Billboard 200, ranking at #58 this week after registering 55% in sales. The Billboard charts tabulate the relative weekly popularity of songs and albums in the United States and elsewhere. The results are published weekly on the Billboard magazine website.

‘Made In Lagos’ impressive performances come at a time Wizkid has announced that he will be releasing the project’s deluxe version later this week – on August 27, 2021.

The deluxe version will have additional four tracks to the original ‘Made In Lagos’ album including the already released ‘Essence’ remix that has additional vocals from Canadian singer Justin Bieber and another feature with Nigerian singer Buju.

‘Made in Lagos’ is the fourth studio album from Wizkid released on the 30th of October 2020.

It features guest appearances from British artists Skepta and Ella Mai, American R&B singer H.E.R., Jamaican artists Projexx and Damian Marley, Nigerian artists Burna Boy, Tay Iwar, Terri, and Tems, the latter of whom is on the international-charting song ‘Essence’.

The album has already had one nomination for the Rest of Africa Award at the 27th annual South African Music Awards.
