Celebrated Zambian musician Pompi has released a new hit dubbed ‘Kwacha’.

‘Kwacha’ is fascinating with a different sound other than the intriguing gospel hip-hop that he is known for.

With a touch of the gospel, Pompi highlights pertinent issues affecting the continent. He tackles issuing pinning down Zambia and the entire continent including corruption, police brutality and gender-based violence.

All these, he says, was inspired by true events. He uses a young girl in the music video to send the point home. On his YouTube page, he captioned the new song with a message stating “Fatsani: A Tale of Survival produced by HD Plus. This film is tackling issues that affect the African continent at large such as corruption, cadres, police brutality and gender based violence. Inspired by true events, the film tells the story of a young girl who is forced into the streets when her school closes due to a water crisis and corruption.”

After highlighting the pertinent issues facing the continent, ‘Kwacha’ speaks hope of a better tomorrow for every one going through hard times in life. In one of his lines, he says that even with darkness, there will always be a morning with day light.

“Every season has a moment when it's dark, but there is always going to be a morning,” he said.
