Different artists have since Monday organized tribute shows in South Africa and abroad to commemorate the gone souls. However, DJ Maphorisa holds that this is unbecoming and uncalled for. He insists that they should be allowed to rest in peace.

“But this thing of tribute shows everywhere doesn’t look right n its not making sense, lets not be desperate n be greedy respect the boys please,” he tweeted. (Sic).

Most of his fans agreed that it was not right, claiming that some of the people holding tributes are only doing it for clout.

“True brother, if we wanna celebrate the boys let it be in a venue and whatever is made there should go to their families as a form of respect,” Bethuel Rabohale said.

Refilwa Theophilus added “Mind you they even charge entrance fee to those venues. On someone's death you busy making money haibo SA artists.”

“In paying tribute to the two heroes (Killer Kau and Mpura) that have contributed immensely within the entertainment industry and as part of our efforts to promote and preserve the rich legacy that they crafted, Amapiano Awards are in conversations with financial services companies to create a facility that will assist in ensuring that our artists receive funeral cover and disability benefits,” the non-profit organization stated according to Sowetan Live.

The two Amapiano artists died after being involved in a grisly accident early this week.
