Gyakie Reveals How Honoured She Felt By Ghana's First Lady's Gesture

Ghanaian songstress and songwriter, Gyakie has talked about how honoured she felt when First Lady Rebecca Akufo-Addo used the lyrics from her song ‘Forever’ to send her husband; the president of the Republic of Ghana a birthday message.

The birthday which was on March 29, 2021, saw the first lady sending a coded message with the lyrics of Gyakie’s song ‘Forever’ to the President on his special day. Forever is the song that brought Gyakie to the limelight.

Despite Gyakie being the daughter of Ghanaian highlife icon, Nana Acheampong, she has worked her way to the top of Ghanain music charts by going through music school and working hard.

Speaking in a radio interview on Hitz FM, Gyakie stated that she was shocked when she found out about what had happened. She said: "It was one of the biggest motivations for me this year, I woke up in the morning and everyone was sending it to me, and I couldn't believe it," 

"I had to check the page to be sure, and when it was true, I was surprised and honoured that she actually quoted the line in the song,"  Gyakie told Andy Dosty, the host of the interview.
