In a recent Facebook Live session with his fans, he said that things “are tense” at the moment in Zambia, therefore, it is not the best time to drop the project.
“We haven’t even set like an actual release date because I feel like Zambia is tense right now and the climate just doesn’t allow,” he stated.
Zambia is headed to general elections in August 2021. Much attention has been turned to the polls.
Macky 2 together with several other Zambian artists have been under fire for composing political campaign songs in cahoots with their new label Kalandanya Music Promotions (KMP).

Together with Yo Maps and Mampi, they released ‘Solly Alebwelelapo’, a song for PF party. This pushed him to the wrong side with a section of fans who felt that he shouldn’t be taking political sides.
However, Macky 2 insists that his singing for PF is purely business which he is into as an artist.
He now hopes to release the new album after the August general election. Elections are known to whip up emotions which may not augur well with the release of a new album.
This year alone, Macky 2 has released several singles and they were received well. As a way of making up for the album delay, Macky 2 says he’ll be dropping a new single off the album soon.
