Meet Macky 2, Chef 187 and Towela Keira: The Siblings Dominating Zambian Music Industry

The Kaira’s; Macky 2, Chef 187 and Towela Kaira are indisputably Zambia’s musical powerhouse. They are an embodiment of a talented family whose name is known in the international stage.
They are siblings who have made a name for their family. Although the two brothers trade under different stage names, Towela decided to pick her family’s last name as she secures a place in the Zambian industry.

Macky 2 and Chef 187 have been in the game long enough. Music is everything to them. Their youngest sister; a scientist by profession, hang her Microbiology coats for music. She has since mastered the game and is quickly rising in the Zambian music charts.
Towela recently released her third single ‘Lover’ through Nexus Music Entertainment and it is the real deal. When she launched the song’s video last week, both Macky 2 and Chef 187 were right by her side. She has made a name for herself by delivering tantalizing music. Towela did ‘Delay’ and featured her two brothers in a hit that served ‘family goals’ to many in Zambia with more than two decades in the music industry.

On his part, Macky 2 is proud of his musical tidings for the year. His most recent songs have surpassed the commercially viable mark hitting a million streams and counting in less than three months. A classic example is ‘Alabalansa’ featuring Yo Maps. The song, in just four months, has over 2.2 million views on YouTube. Another mega hit ‘Danger Zone Reunion’ which he did in the beginning of May is past the 500K mark views on YouTube.
Chef 187, on the other hand, is a man who has won hearts in Zambia with his lyrical rap. He punches hard, makes a lot of sense in his lyrics and has the bar set too high for rappers within his league. He composes his songs in Bemba and it is very intentional. Bemba is a Zambian native language.
Chef says he views it as a way to promote the Zambian culture and get deep into the hearts of his people.
Macky 2’s musical success has seen him build an empire and is one of the richest artistes in Zambia. His musical prowess also set a bar for his siblings who quickly followed in his steps. Through him, they have made stellar careers from music.
