Ndlovu’s message in ‘Asimbonanga’ is all about love and peace which Mandela always urged his people to live by. “Happy Birthday Tata Nelson Mandela. May your unwavering spirit of Ubuntu continue to inspire our nation when we need it most. No one is born hating another person because of the colour of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite’ - Tata Nelson Mandela,” the choir captioned the song.

The new release comes against the backdrop of violent protests and systemic looting in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng following the imprisonment of former President Jacob Zuma.

Zuma was cited by the court for contempt in an ongoing graft and abuse of office case. He was sent to 15 months in prison for disobeying court orders. This irked his supporters from KwaZulu-Natal sparking a wave of protest that trickled down to Gauteng.
