Ndlovu Youth Choir Release New Jam Calling for Peace Amid Protests in South Africa [Video]

South Africa’s famed Ndlovu Youth Choir has released a new song calling for peace in Mzansi after a spate of protest and looting. In the song posted on their social media handles, the choir prays to God to grant South Africa peace and stability.

“We pray for peace in our beautiful land during these difficult times. ‘Mangisondele’ - Lord bring us closer to You. God bless South Africa,” they captioned the video on their Facebook page.

Protests broke early this week following the incarceration of former President Jacob Zuma. Zuma turned himself in to serve a 15-month jail term as a result of contempt.

The 79-year-old leader is facing abuse of office and corruption charges. His supporters are protesting his imprisonment terming it “a return of apartheid”.

The protests rocking different parts of the South Africa have left 72 people dead and scores of others nursing injuries. Looting is brazen in major towns.

 At least 1,200 people from KwaZulu Natal have been arrested but this is not calming the situation.

Zuma hails from KwaZulu and has been greatly supporting his backyard throughout his political life. With the situation getting out of hand, Ndlovu Youth Choir are turning to the gospel to preach peace and calm the situation on the ground.
