DJ Speedsta Claims He learned of His AMP Live Show Termination on Social Media

DJ Speedsta; a common face in SABC1 AMP LIVE show has shocked fans after he claimed that he did not know the station was ending his show. He says he was taken aback when it emerged that he would only be shooting for the last season.

“Back for the last dance. @LamiezHolworthy and @speedstabro are getting the party started with a brand new season of @liveamp tomorrow at 19:30 #SABC1WeMakeSure,” SABC1 tagged him in a tweet.

It is then that one of his fans asked him if he is about to look for another job, but he responded with a post indicating that he had just earned of the news on social media.

“Is it the last season bro?” asked Musa CAF Finalist. Speedsta in his reply said: “Apparently so. Also hearing about it on social media for the first time. Lol. Hai. Ya neh! Bo bra Phil got us on our toes!!! Just want to work master.”

DJ Speedsta is known for his ‘Mayo’ hit that redefines South African Hip-hop. Live Amp has been in play for the last 10 years. It has shaped talents and propelled South African music to higher levels.

Phil Mphela; a renowned entertainment host in South Africa recently announced that the show has had its run for a decade and time has come for the curtains to come down.

Mphela made the announcement after a putting out a poster inviting all to a grand performance by renowned rapper AKA during the start of the season finale.

"After a decade on air, SABC1’s primetime music show Live Amp is ending. The new season, themed The Last Dance, is its farewell run. The final season premieres this Friday, 9 July, at 7.30 pm," Mphale said.
