Nakimera was one of the biggest female artists running the secular music industry and managed to bag several top awards. However, when she switched to gospel, she was unsure how things would turn out considering that gospel music is not a very popular genre in Uganda.

Nakimera recently overcame her fear when her song 'Kabaka Kristo' won 'Best Song Of The Year' accolade in the 2021 Vine Awards.

"I'm happy and the truth is, I didn't expect to win anything ever again because I had stopped singing secular music for a long time to even think that my fans were still out there. They voted and showed me that they still love my energy. I'm humbled by it because I know it's only God that gives such chances," Grace Nakimera said.

This is Grace Nakimera's second award under the gospel category; the first one was during Katika Awards where the same song won 'Song of the Year'.
