Grace Nakimera: I Don’t Regret My Life before Switching to Gospel Music

Ugandan dancehall artist Grace Nakimera has vowed to embrace and not be ashamed of her past despite criticism from a section of netizens.

Before switching to gospel music, Grace Nakimera was one of the biggest female artists in the music industry. At one point, Cindy Sanyu noted that she was intimidated by Nakimera’s stage presence and music prowess.

Addressing how she feels about her past and whether she’ll erase her old music now that she is born again, Nakimera noted she won't erase her old music, arguing that it is part of her life journey.

"I will do spiritual music because I want to connect with everyone. I will do gospel music but I will never ever go back to doing the kind of music I was doing before. I don't regret my old music because that's who I am. I meant each and every word I sang about because I was serious about my lyrics. In my past, I don't regret anything since it was never a mistake but I believe that I have grown up and I can do better things," Grace Nakimera said during a recent interview.

According to Nakimera, she made the decision to switch from secular to gospel after going through a spiritual attack that saw her almost lose her life.

She has since released songs like Anvirideyo, Yansasira, Kabaka Kristo among others.
