Renowned Ghanaian songstress Vera Hamenoo-Kpeda widely professionally known as MzVee has said that while many musicians have only seen the negative effects of Corona-virus, it has helped her to rediscover herself.
Speaking in an interview with Rev Erskine on Y 107.9 FM’s Myd Morning Radio Show, the dancehall musician said that whereas other musicians have been busy complaining of how the pandemic has affected them negatively, it came to her as a blessing in disguise as it has seen her learn many things about herself that she didn't know.
She further said that she took advantage of the ample time she had at home to record many songs because, at that time, she couldn't go anywhere. “we couldn’t go anywhere, and the music I was doing at the time was just really relaxing and different”.
“That period just helped me rediscover myself, and I just grew into myself a bit more. Although it had its negative side, it was really positive for me”. She went on to say that she really needed the break to look at herself from a different angle.
"I didn't even know myself back then, so this break just gave me the time to discover who I really am and looking at myself now, I feel myself in a whole different way”. She told the host of the interview.
The ‘Sing my Name’ hitmaker also said that taking a break from her busy schedule was a good thing that inspired her to start making the new wave of music that she is currently doing.
"The break taught me growth and newfound confidence. Currently, I'm just living the very best of my life," she concluded.
