Renowned Kenyan artist Bahati has responded to Ezekiel Mutua’s announcement that Kenya Film Classification Board was cancelling financial support towards him. Speaking during the launch of his new album ‘Love Like This’, Bahati said he did not want to respond to Ezekiel on the media because he respects him as a father, adding that he felt like Ezekiel had done the wrong thing and there was a better way to handle.

“Personally, I don’t want to respond to him on media, because first I respect him also as a father, even though he did a wrong thing. I think there was a better way to do it, sababu si ati ni pesa amenipea, you get,” he said.
As to why Ezekiel decided to blast him, Bahati said he felt the KFCB boss was just taking advantage of his trending name on social media, following the release of his latest jam ‘Fikra Za Bahati’.
“Nilifeel nikama ni kiki, nika ni trending, sababu mi nimetrend sana hii wiki, kila mtu YouTube ananijibu ananifanya nini so, I thought he is taking that advantage ” he added.

His response comes a day after Ezekiel announced that the Kenya Film and Classification Board had cancelled its partnership deal with Bahati estimated to be worth over Sh200,000.
“This week Kenya Film Classification Board cancelled over 200k cash and other kind support to musician Bahati following the posting of videos which contravened our clean content and partnership policy.
“It was a painful decision to take because Bahati had approached us for this support and committed to being a clean content Ambassador. However, with the videos doing rounds on social media, our team unanimously took the decision to cancel the support and disassociate completely with the planned event,” Ezekiel Mutua’s statement read in part.
