Celebrated Zimbabwean musician Baba Harare is a happy man after his latest jam ‘Rita’ remix featuring Mai Tt went viral in the country, hitting over 300,000 views on YouTube in under ten days.
In the first three days of its release, ‘Rita’ had a cool 200,000 views on YouTube. The magic behind the viral playing and viewing of the song is attributed to the massive talent and quality production.
Rita’ covers a deeply emotive issue of love. It explores the beauty of the world’s most glorious thing without a price tag. Together, they affectionately speak of love and the endless possibilities that come with romantic gestures and genuine affection.

“A remix of the original Rita featuring Mai TT. Rita is a love song depicting love and all its possibilities,” Baba Harare describes the song.
The song’s beats are basic, conformed into Baba Harare’s style of ‘Jiti’ music but still bring out contemporariness. In 2020, Baba Harere released the original version of ‘Rita’ a jam that was unknown to many until May 29 when he dropped the remix featuring the talented Mai Tt.
It brings out the beauty of Shona music with bits of English words by the sassy Mai Tt.
