“That’s the idea. At the end of the day, what we need to do is protect his legacy by all means and also make sure that that his family is fed,” Slapdee said.
He noted that all that matters is ensuring that Daev’s family is taken care of as he would have done if he was alive and also protect his legacy.

In March, Daev’s family moved to court suing XYZ over royalties. Daev’s mother; Martha Phiri through lawyer Simon Mwila urged the court to issue an order compelling the label to release Daev’s royalties and other monies paid to him through the label for adverts and other endorsements.
The matter is before Lusaka Magistrate’s Court for determination. Daev had signed several contracts and had also been engaged in several music projects with different artistes.
Martha is the administrator of Daev’s estate which is worth millions of money. The family was demanding K10,283 from XYZ for damages caused by actions of refusing to release the money.
