Celebrated Ugandan singer Rabadaba has accused his former record label Black market Records of failing to live up to the promises made to him as he joined the franchise.

Be Encouraged by Psalms 118:14

Speaking during a recent interview, Rabadaba alleged that the label resorted to shooting cheap videos for his songs, making his projects disadvantaged as compared to those of his competitors from across the continent.

"Black Market puts a lot on their plate and can't handle it. You can't have a lot of artists in and outside the continent and deliver to all of them.

“The stuff included in my contract was very plain and simple, but a whole record label handed me 2 videos on the same day while they were trying to cut the budget. They spent like 1,000 dollars, something I could afford myself on two videos. You can't put an artist in front of a camera for 24 hours because you're trying to cut costs? I still have that budget with me and I can present it,” he alleged.

'Wanchekecha’ and ‘Shoot Them' are the videos in question. According to Rabadaba, this is the reason why opted to leave the label.

"This was enough for me to know that we can't work together because the netizens know me and I'm not looking at a local market. You can't have a nice song and a low quality video," Rabadaba told Spark TV.

By press time, Black Market Records was yet to respond to Rabadaba’s claims.
