Ghanaian dancehall king Stonebwoy has challenged Zimbabwean artistes eyeing the international market to focus on building a name locally before crossing the borders.

According to Stonebwoy, a strong support system from home is what will catapult local artistes to the international market.

Without this, Stonebwoy added, nothing much will be achieved by Zimbabwean artistes.

“More work, more dedication to the craft and being very tactful but not forgetting to build a strong home base. I have made music with global audience in mind ever since and the truth is my music has since gained massive support from Ghana and the world,” he told H-Metro.

But in as much as he focuses on his people, he ensures that his music appeals to the international market too.

“I believe my reach is not only for my people I have always widened my tentacles to appeal globally to the specific people who can relate to each song that I release,” he opened.

He praised Zimbabwean star singer Nutty O saying that they are good friends. Both artistes recently worked on two songs together although they are yet to be released.

During the interview, Stonebwoy noted that he’ll be working with more Zimbabwean artistes in the future.
