American-born Nigerian singer, songwriter and record producer Davido recently celebrated 10-years in music industry.
Davido who has been active in music since 2010 is today rated as one of the most influential artists in Africa.
He rose to fame after releasing ‘Dami Duro’, the second single from his debut studio album ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ that was released 2012.
In his 10-year music career, Davido has won over 20 awards and nominated for tens of dozens – he has literally won at least one of the major awards in Africa – from the Headies, MTV Africa, Kora, Mobo, AFRIMA to MTV Europe Awards among many others.
He also holds several records, the latest one being the first afrobeats artist to have a music video surpass 200 million views on YouTube. This milestone he achieved with the 2017 hit single ‘Fall’ that currently has over 203 million views.
Davido further has a fastest African music video to reach a million views. This is after the 2020 hit single ‘FEM’ reached the a million views in a record less than 7 hours.
The 28-year-old singer has three studio albums and one EP, the most recent one being ‘A Better Time’ which was released in 2020. Others are: ‘Omo Baba Olowa’ released in 2012, ‘Son of Mercy’ – an EP released in 2016 and the ‘A Good Time’ album which was released in 2019.

Born David Adedeji Adeleke, Davido has also managed to do collaborations with several international artists.
He has worked with South Africa’s Mafikozolo in the 2014 hit single ‘Tchelete’ (Goodlife), American Rapper Young Thug and American hip hop duo Rae Sremmurd in ‘Pere’ released in 2017, as well as Chris Brown in the single ‘Blow My Mind’ off the ‘A Good Time’ album.
The most recent collaborations is American rapper Lil Baby and Trinidadian Nick Minaj in the ‘A Good Time’ album.
