Several African musicians have been lined-up to grace the Natives Festival 2021 edition. Nandy and Diamond Platnumz will represent the bongo music scene during the festival scheduled for September in Cancun, Mexico.

The event was postponed from last year's summer due to travel restrictions and control measures to curb the spread of coronavirus.

Notably, the festival was among casualties that suffered from the disruption caused by the pandemic in the art scene. Other African musicians that will grace the event include Burna Boy, FireBoy DML, Mr Killer, King Promise, Olatunji and Spike among others.

“This is one of a kind event celebrating different cultures, music and art. Over the course of 4 days, attendees will have access to the most culturally diverse combination of experiences ranging across music, art installations, fashion, dance parties, carnival, food and more,” read a statement from organizers.

The event has borrowed a leaf from the popular Coachella Festival held in the United States as it will feature several stages celebrating various aspects of the African culture.
