Diamond Platnumz Among African Stars Lined-up for 1Xtra 360 Launch

WCB boss Diamond Platnumz has joined other top African stars for the 1Xtra’s Africa 360 launch.
Africa 360 is a BBC-powered program with a focus on the continental music scene. It features exclusive live performances, interviews, artist takeovers, and new mixes for BBC Sound.
“100% of the music played on 1Xtra will be from the continent of Africa covering North, South, East, West, and Central,” BBC said.
Diamond joins other stars, including Aya Nakamura, Focalistic, ElGrandeToto, Sha Sha, Omah Lay, Tiwa Savage, Jade 5, Sauti Sol, DJ Maphorisa, Major League DJs, among others.
With the launch, BBC has lined up several events, with Thursday, March 25 slated for Live Lounge performance from Nigerian Davido.
“As a network, 1Xtra has always been at the forefront of championing the African music scene, and it’s important we continue to do so, not only by supporting current artists but by investing in the next generation of African artists. 1Xtra’s ‘Africa 360 with,” said Faron McKenzie, the head of BBC 1Xtra.
However, BBC did share more details about Diamond’s involvement since the singer has paused several of his projects following the demise of President John Magufuli.
