WCB boss Diamond Platnumz has explained the motivation behind Mbosso’s album title ‘Definition of Love.’ This is after questions emerged why the album bore an English name, but most of the songs were in Swahili.

Speaking on Monday, Diamond stated that the move was all about marketing aimed at reaching foreign fans. Diamond added that with a Swahili title, international fans might not be able to grasp the contents.

He exuded confidence that once fans listen to the melodies, they might stick around.

“Wakati mwengine lazima tuwe wanjanja..lazima utumie tricks zingine ku manipulate. Tunataka lugha yetu kuitangaza kimaitaifa...lazima uweke jina la kizungu achanganyikiwe...lazima uweke mtego,” said Diamond.

On the other hand, Mbosso stated that the goal was to hit new markets because English was a universal language.

The stance comes just days after Konde Worldwide's boss, Harmonize, called on bongo musicians to release more English music to reach the international fan base.

Harmonize made the appeal after dropping his ‘All Night’ single featuring Anjella. It is the same model that was used to name the Rayvanny album, ‘Sound from Africa.’ The title was in English, but a majority of the songs were in Swahili.
