Fast-rising Ugandan Afro Fusion artist Lamu has revealed that her new single dubbed 'Beautiful', was a letter addressed to herself when she was battling depression and anxiety.

"I first wrote Beautiful as a love letter to myself, because I was trying so so hard to get into a healthier mental space but felt rather stuck in that dark place (anxiety and depression).

"October 2020, I got into studio (like I usually do every week) except that night I wasn't exactly kin on writing about enjoyments or love…(which I absolutely like to write and sing about), so I convinced my production team to help me turn that letter into the song that you're hearing now," Lamu shared.

‘Beautiful’ is a slow jam with charming lyrics; it is a kind reminder of how beautiful and amazing you truly are.

In the song, she encourages listeners to embrace their beauty just the way they are. She hopes the jam will continue inspiring those going through dark times.
