New Music Ghana: Ebony Featuring Wendy Shay

Ghanaian late singer Ebony’s ‘record label has released one of her pre-recorded songs as it marks the third year since she passed on. The song titled ‘John 8:7’ features her label mate Wendy Shay.
In the song, Ebony talks about paying no attention to her haters and enemies. The late Dancehall artiste said people criticized her music, outfits, personal life among others. She said that she’s had enough of the judgment adding “so take uno catapult, he without sin stone Ebony.” She also celebrated people who have been supporting her irrespective of the critics.
The multi-talented singer was announced dead was on February 9, 2018. It was a shocking event as many Ghanaians could not believe losing one of the nation’s young and talented artistes.
Miss Ebony, born Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng was at the age of 21-year-old when she was killed in a car crash on the Mankranso Kumasi-Sunyani highway while returning from Sunyani where she had gone to visit her mother.
Ebony died alongside two others – Frankie Kuri and Lance Corporal Vondee Atsu – who were with her in the vehicle while travelling to Accra.
A heap of sand that was sitting on one part of the two-lane road was reportedly the cause of the accident. She would have turned 24 years old on 16th February 2021.
