Tanzanian Minister of Information, Culture, Arts and Sports Hon. Innocent Bashungwa has assured Tanzanian artists that the government will ensure they benefit from their work, which will in turn help in boosting the national income.
Speaking over the weekend in Arusha, Minister Bashungwa said he had partnered with Tanzania Communications Regulatory Authority to help artists earn what they deserve.
He was speaking at a forum organized by the Tanzania Institute of Musicians (TAMUFO) whose role is to promote development, fight poverty, ignorance and disease and facilitate equitable sharing of musicians royalties.
Hon. Bashungwa’s remarks come as a reprieve to artists and effectiveness of the government’s effort to help artists in Tanzania.
Meanwhile, Arusha District Commissioner Kenan Kihongosi speaking on behalf of Arusha Regional Commissioner Iddi Hassan Kimanta said the region is safe and artists from within and outside the region are invited to do their work to increase their income.
