Zambian reggae artiste Petersen Zagaze elicited a debate on the importance of working hard when he released his ‘Life Yapa Zed’ hit three months ago.

The song quickly became the ‘hustler anthem’.  Some of his fans have confessed to listening to the song to charge them up before heading out for work in the morning.

“I listen to this song before I go to bed and before waking up, it’s an anthem for hustlers,” Promise Kalikeka Jr told Petersen recently.

When he posted the song on his YouTube channel, he discouraged people from living from paycheck to paycheck. “We cannot live life depending and expecting to survive on any monthly salary or reluctantly waiting for a government/formal employment and job, if we want to be successful in life,” he wrote.

Instead, he advised that people should look at side hustles as a way of bettering their lives and that they should never be shy of doing it.

“We should never be shy to proudly expose our little side or main hustle no matter how embarrassing it may seem or being perceived by society. As long as it pays our bills and helps us to handle our everyday expenses, let us go out there and grab survival opportunities. Today people across the world strive and press to succeed on two to three jobs,” he said.
