What You Should Know About Bulawayo Gospel Star Chelsea Mguni

Chelsea Mguni alias Chely has been making headlines in Zimbabwe due her deep gospel music.

Her latest song, ‘Shoko Renyu’ has given her mileage in the music scene. But who is Mguni?

She is based in Bulawayo and is 27 years old. Mguni who doubles up as an actress has since childhood harboured the passion for music.

Mguni traces her music roots to her family, but her entry to a choir in Zimbabwe in 2013 honed her skills in music.

She joined Vocal Extraordinaire Choir which helped her venture into professional music. Courtesy of Thembelani Mdlaziba, Mguni was able to win the hearts of many people with her talent in South Africa, Zambia, Botswana and the UK.

She had riveting shows in these countries when she launched her professional career as a choir member.

In 2018, she released her first album as a solo artiste. The album ‘The praise offering’ was the start of her journey as a solo artiste in Zimbabwe’s music industry.

Her top collaborations include; ‘Ndozvinoita Nyasha’ featuring Jonah Chivasa. Eternity Productions CEO McDonald Macdee Chidavaenzi who doubles up as a producer worked on the mega collabo.
