Asaph Nominated For 2021 MTV Awards

Zimbabwean Hiphop star Asaph has made it to the MTV African Music Awards after a daunting 2020. Asaph was nominated in the Listeners’ Choice Category Zimbabwe.

MTV Africa picked five Zimbabwean artistes whose music is mostly played in Zimbabwe. MTV partenered with ZiFM Stereo in picking the five artistes.

The five; Gemma Griffiths, Asaph Winky D, Jah Prayzah and Sha Sha were subjected to a poll on Twitter where Asaph carried the day landing the final cut to MTV Africa Music Awards.

“Really excited about landing the nomination to represent Zimbabwe. Looking at the other artists nominated makes me feel I have officially entered the African stage,” he wrote on social media.

Under Listeners’ Choice Category, Asaph will battle it out with other artistes from different countries. They include: Pallaso (Uganda), Slick Stuart & Dj Roja (Uganda), Focalistic (South Africa), DBN Gogo & DJ Dinho (South Africa), Tiwa Savage (Nigeria), Khaligraph Jones (Kenya), Anna Joyce (Angola), Rayvanny (Tanzania), Drizilik (Sierra Leone), Ngaaka Blinde (Senegal), Locko (Cameroon)and Sarkodie (Ghana).

Others are: Dagi D (Ethiopia), Meddy (Rwanda), Shirezee (Benin), Mohamed Ramadan (Egypt) and Melome
