Ykee Benda Calls for Immediate Release of Bobi Wine from House Arrest

Veteran Ugandan musician and presidential candidate in the recently concluded general election Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has been under house arrest for the past 7 days now.
The National Unity Platform leader on Tuesday shared a photo stuck inside his house together with his wife Barbie Kyagulanyi and his 18-months old nephew who had come for a visit and couldn't be allowed to go back to his parents.

Bobi Wine revealed that they had run out of food plus milk for the baby, but they couldn't be allowed to get out for additional supplies.
The post on Facebook elicited massive reactions with his fans and colleagues in the industry calling for his release from house arrest.
Reacting to the post, Ykee Benda condemned the government for violating Boni Wine’s rights.
Ykee Benda encouraged Bobi Wine and his family to stay put noting that the challenges they are facing now will soon pass.

"Why would the police arrest these people in the house and still deny them access to food? Why really? This is very bad and they should be released immediately. I pray for you my people, may the almighty God protect you inside there. This too will come to an end one day,"he said.
