Jose Chameleone Banking on His Music to Help him Win Kampala Mayoral Election

As the 2021 Ugandan general election is fast approaching, legendary musician Jose Chameleone who doubles up as a politician is confident of winning the Kampala mayoral seat.

In an interview with Spark TV, the Leone Island boss noted that the message in his music will play a huge role in his projected win come 14th January.

"I have a big chance of winning this. At first they disrespected artists joining politics but our music did a good job," he said.

Jose Chameleone gave an example of his songs like 'Bayuda', 'Basiima Ogenze' and 'Katupakase' which he says carry a very good educative message.

"Get my songs and remove the beats and read the message you will realize we write with a purpose. We see different things happening to people," he divulged.

A recent poll conducted on all mayoral candidates indicated that Jose Chameleone was the highly likely to win the seat.

According to Chameleone, the people trust him and unless there is manipulation of votes, he will be declared the winner.

"Unless they rig these elections, but people are ready and willing to vote for Mayanja because they have studied me and found out that I'm the right person. It is impossible for me to sing all these songs and still have a coconut head," Jose Chameleone said.
