As we kick start 2021, here are the top trending music videos from Nigerian artists this first week of the year.
'The Mood' - Timaya
This is a music video for a single taken from Timaya's album 'Gratitude' which he released towards the end of 2020.
'The Mood' video was dropped on December 23, 2020 and has performed fairly well, with over 200k views on YouTube within a week.
'Lento' - Mr Eazi ft J Balvin
'Lento' is a song in which Mr Eazi and J Balvin, both giants in their spheres, bridge their musical worlds on the Killertunes-produced track, trading lyrics in Spanish, English and Yoruba.
The video directed by Meji Alabi was shot in diffrent locations with scenes filmed from Mr Eazi's 2020 home base - London and at J Balvin's headquarters in Colombia.
'Lento' official video has close to a million YouTube views while it's dance video released early in December 2020 has ammassed over 4.5 million views.
'Chi Chi' - Naira Marley
'Chi Chi' is one of the two festive season songs that Naira Marley released on the same day in December 2020.
The song produced by Rexxie is a lovers' anthem and its visuals were dropped on the 2020 Christmas eve.
'Deceive' - Yemi Alade ft Rudeboy
Off Yemi Alade's fifth studio album 'Empress', 'Deceive' music video sees the Afrobeats queen team up with Rudeboy with Funke 'Jenifa' Akindele starring.
The video directed by Clarence Peters has over 3.5 million views on YouTube in about week of premier.
It is also currently #48 trending video on YouTube.
'Godly' - Omah Lay
Omah Lay released the 'Godly' music video off his second EP 'What Have We Done' on December 18, 2020.
The video remains among the top trending in Nigeria with over 3.2 million views on YouTube as of today.
