Jah Prayzah’s ‘Mukwasha’ Hit Song Silences Critics with 5 Million Views

When Jah Prayzah released ‘Mukwasha’ in July, there was a lot of talk in town on his alleged ‘failing musical standards’ but that was just critic talk going round.
Six months later, his fans have proven beyond reasonable doubt that ‘Mukwasha’ was never a flop as it is one of his biggest hits in 2020.
What would you say of a song that has managed to garner 5.1 million views in half a year? Isn’t it a big song to achieve such success?

‘Mukwasha’ is one of Jah Prayzah’s great songs from his Hokoyo album. He brings out an interesting theme of the relationship between most men and their in-laws in the African culture.
‘Mukwasha’ is Shona for son-in-law in English. An analytical eye of the song tells you that it is deeply relatable and passes the message even to non-Shona speaking fans.

From the video alone, you can decipher the message easily. What’s outstanding about the hilarious video is that it brings out an important aspect of hard work to keep your woman happy as well as her family that expects you to reach certain standards in life.
Even South Africans admitted that the song is a big hit especially the video which keeps them playing it on repeat mode.
