Young Ugandan Rappers Lack Creativity – G.N.L Zamba

The Ugandan Hip-hop industry is very competitive with the top rappers working tirelessly to outdo each other.
Unlike a couple of years ago when Navio and G.N.L Zamba were the top rappers in the country with limited competition, a new crops of Hip-hop artistes have emerged giving them a run for their money.

The emergence of these new crops of artists has broadened the Ugandan Hip-hop sphere giving us a wide range of options to select from.
The new generation of rappers has taken Ugandan by storm with a section of fans claiming that they could send the old guards to early retirement.

However, veteran rapper GNL Zamba is of a different opinion. Speaking during an interview with Tuff B, Zamba was tasked to name one young rapper he thinks is doing a great job, but he couldn't list any.

He noted that in as much as there are many talented youngsters, they lack creativity and are still doing nursery rhymes.
"So many fresh talents have the energy but lack a huge pool of artistry to draw from to give us something new. I enjoy unpredictable lyrics. Refer to something we haven't thought about before.
"There is a need to be a 360 artist; don't do club songs only but you need to challenge yourself and do some other kind of music," he said.
