Before moving to the United States, veteran rapper, G.N.L Zamba had a well-established record label dubbed Baboon Forest. He is one of the pioneers of the rap industry and he collected different rappers including Mun G, Big Tril and many others, signing them to the label.

When they parted ways with the label, some rappers went solo, while others formed their own groups.

In a recent interview, G.N.L Zamba listed his former group members that have continued to make him proud by holding the Hip-hop flag high.

"I talked to Big Tril for over three and a half hours on phone. He is in Nigeria but I'm so proud of him because he has the number one song in Africa and it has crossed boarders, from Los Angeles, New York and many other places.

"I'm so proud of Mr Igwe (Mun G) as well. Plus this trending boy, Free Boy of 'Kwata Essimu'. He is also a Baboon Forest affiliate. On my 'Koi Koi' album, he sung almost all the choruses. I'm lucky that most of the people, I touch are successful. I have the eye of seeing the talent in people,” G.N.L said.

The 'Dear HipHop' star said he wants to mentor other artistes, this time investing more on female rappers.

"I would also like to do that again, but this time with a group of girls. I'm looking for a group of female rappers on my new record label with an effort of improving talent in the industry because last time it was so male dominated. Now I want a mixture of both male and female.

"There are so many talented people in Uganda and I want to invest in them. In Hip-hop, they say you have to share what you have. If you look at someone who has spent many years in the industry without mentoring anyone, he is a selfish person. I want to share with other people what I've learnt,” he opined.
