A great singer and dancer she is, and a decade since she hit the limelight, Silethemba Magonya has continued to become better and more charismatic in Zimbabwe.

Magonya was an ardent dancer back in the day known for her great rendition moves as she performed the late Brenda Fassie’s hits.

She founded Iyasa group which made a name for itself through dance across Zimbabwe but she would also double up as a vocalist.

Today, she is on the self-reinvention path and has staged a spirited zeal to stand as a solo artiste which she is nailing given her over two decades experience in performing arts.

“It has been a phenomenal journey pregnant with experiences that have shaped my growth into a more professional artist and singer. Starting off with Iyasa, Cirque Africa, Le Cirque Phenix, my highlight in my Circus life productions, which had over 60 performers from all over Africa, I have been maturing in music over the years in terms of creativity, live music dynamics and songwriting,” the 35-year-old told Sunday News.

Now, she is all set to release ‘Buya Kimi’ her latest single which should be hitting the airwaves in two weeks. She says that she has learnt to work by her own pace for more satisfaction which is why it has been a long journey transitioning into a solo artist.

Magonya disclosed that she wrote most of her music back in the day as a band member and started recording them in 2019. Her fans can expect an album with eight songs.
