How did Tommy D begin his music career?

Tommy D Namafela’s music career dates back to 2007 when he released his first album titled ‘Mafasho’. Despite releasing an album in 2007, his major breakthrough came in 2012 when he teamed up with Macky 2 for a song dubbed ‘Nicahaa’. The song did well, prompting him to work with Macky 2 on several other songs including ‘Iwe Naine’. Having established himself, he decided to drop his first solo hit dubbed ‘Masese Low Quality’.

In 2013, he collaborated with MO$Money on a song dubbed ‘Village Girl’. The song did well and earned him additional followers across Zambia. Over the years, he has produced a lot of music and worked with several top artistes in the country. By 2017, he had three albums namely; Mbasela, Masese and Mafasho. His hard work and determination has seen him rise to become one of the best rappers in Zambia.

His latest release is a song dubbed ‘Talila Nafuti’ paying tribute to his friend Daev who died in September following a tragic accident.
