2020 is not yet over but we have already seen a number of top collaboration hits that Naija musicians have released this year.
We take a look at some of the collabos so far that you need to listen to as we head into the weekend:
‘AG Baby’ – Adekunle Gold featuring Nailah Blackman
Highlife singer Adekunle Gold released this hit in July as he prepared his fans for the release of the album ‘Afro Pop Volume 1’.
In ‘AG Baby’ Adekunle Gold features Trinidadian Naila Blackman to serve a single that beautifully blends highlife grooves, Caribbean rhythms and pop influences.
‘Gobe Remix’ – L.A.X featuring Simi, Tiwa Savage
It is not often that you will have a song that brings together Tiwa Savage and Simi – two of the biggest female afrobeats musicians today.
Rasaki Music boss L.A.X managed to bring the two songstresses for the remix of his hit single that originally featured music icon 2Baba.
Betty Butter – Mayorkun featuring Davido
‘Betty Butter’ – composed by Mayorkun after a conversation he had with his boss at DMW Davido about social media and women has nice beats and catchy lyrics that will make your weekend better.
The vocal abilities and versatility that the Mayor of Lagos has together with Davido guarantee a track that you will enjoy listening to.
Monsters You Made – Burna Boy featuring Chris Martin
Taken off Burna Boy’s ‘Twice As Tall’ album, ‘Monsters You Made’ is a song in which the singer tackles miseducation, systematic racism and social unrest – inspired by oil exploiters that Burna Boy was witnessing in his home state of Rivers.
The song borrows some melody elements from Michael Jackson’s 1987 hit ‘Dirty Diana’ and be assured you will love it.
Know You – Ladipoe featuring Simi
Vocals in this hit that has been nominated for the Collaboration of the Year category at 2020 All African Muzik Awards (AFRIMA) is just on another level.
Ladipoe and Simi gave their best in this song that has been ruling the airwaves for months now, and it doesn’t show any signs of becoming old.
‘Know You’ is an Afropop/Rap song that talks about two people of the opposite sex who feel they should be more than friends but they are not yet sure because they don’t know each other that well.
