Wizkid Postpones Release Of 'Made In Lagos' Album

Nigerian singer and songwriter Wizkid has postponed the release of his fourth studio 'Made In Lagos'.

The album had been scheduled for release this Friday, October 15.

When asked by a Twitter user whether the release date remains the same, amid ongoing Nationwide protests against police brutality in Nigeria, Wizkid noted that he had put its release on a hold.

"#SarsMustGoNow ......but @wizkidayo MIL go still drop?" asked the Twitter user.

"Not yet!! Mad Times," Wizkid replied.

The Starboy Entertainment boss has already released two of the 14 tracks in the most anticipated album.

The two singles off the 'Made In Lagos' album are 'Smile' featuring Grammy Awards winner H.E.R and 'No Stress'.

'Smile' already has an official video that was released on September 24.

With the ongoing protests that has seen a number of Nigerian artists join, the release date for the 'Made In Lagos' album now remains unknown.

Wizkid is however expected to set a new date.

Not much is known about the album but previously, Wizkid had announced that the album would feature among others fellow Nigerian singers Burna Boy, Tems and Starboy Terri as well as Damian Marley (Jamaican), Ella Mai (British), Tay Iwar, Skepta (British Nigerian), and Projexx (Jamaican).

It had also been widely been expected that its release would have been graced by two of the biggest and greatest rivals in the Nigerian music industry - Burna Boy and Davido.

Wizkid is considered among the most influential and successful artists in Nigeria today.

He rose to prominence after releasing 'Holla at Your Boy', the lead single from his debut studio album Superstar (2011).

In February 2014, Wizkid became the first Nigerian musician to have over one million followers on Twitter.
