WCB singer Zuchu has responded following claims that her ‘Cheche’ song featured lyrics copied from one of Tanasha Donna’s popular hits.

Last week, the management team of Tanasha accused Zuchu of copying Spanish lyrics from the Kenyan singer‘s ‘ride’ single featuring Khalighraph Jones.

The line in question is a popular Spanish phrase ‘Yo te quero tantete’.

Speaking during an interview on Monday, Zuchu pointed out that she did not copy the lyrics as it was an original idea after listening to the beat.

According to Zuchu, being a common phrase, she thought the lyrics rhymed well with the beat.

She was speaking just moments after the ‘Cheche’ video was pulled down from YouTube.

The WCB team in an earlier interview noted that they were working to restore the video.

The copyright claims were launched by an individual identified as ‘Tony Anthony’. Speculation is rife that the video idea was copied from a song by Beyonce and Usher hence the pull-down.

The audio has not been impacted because it is still available on YouTube and other digital streaming platforms.

The ‘Cheche’ video was trending in different countries globally before being pulled down. The video had amassed over 2 million views before being deleted.
