The United States embassy in Tanzania has commented on the collaboration between Alicia Keys and Diamond Platnumz, terming it a great project.

On her latest studio album ‘Alicia’, the American singer brought onboard Diamond for the ‘Wasted Energy’ song.

The song has been received with mixed reactions with a section of Diamond fans calling out Alicia Keys after the bongo singer featured only for 26 seconds.

Through a Twitter post, the U.S embassy expressed delight with the collaboration.

“Great to see American artist @aliciakeys collaborate w/Tanzanian artist @DiamondPlatnumz. New track #WastedEnergy,” the embassy tweeted.

Following the song’s release, Diamond thanked Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz Beatz for the opportunity to feature on the project.

"It's a privilege and honour to be featured in this iconic album of the Queen....Thank you @aliciakeys and my brother @therealswizzz for believing in me," he wrote on Instagram.

From the embassy’s perspective, the collaboration can be classified as music diplomacy. Music is used to promote cooperation, understanding, and mutual respect among nations and their people.

It is speculated that another song between the musicians is on the way, produced by Beatz.

The collaboration went into motion last year when Diamond met with both Alicia and Beatz in the U.S.
