Eric Omondi Explains Why He Can’t Stop Doing Diamond Platnumz Parody Videos

Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi has explained why he can't avoid doing parodies to Diamond Platnumz’s songs.
Omondi is a popular stand-up comedian who has built a reputation of releasing parodies songs to popular hits.
Under his parody catalog, Omondi has concentrated more on bongo music with Diamond Platnumz being among his favorites.
Speaking on Thursday during an interview in Dar es Salaam, Omondi explained why it is hard to ignore Diamond when making parodies.

According to Omondi, Diamond’s consistency and hard work always give him new material for parody songs.
“Lakini Diamond anajituma sana hauwezi mu avoid, last year alitupatia nyimbo nyimbo. As a comedian I’m left with no choice nikifanya parody Diamond is in your face,” said Omondi.
Some of the popular parodies under Omondi’s name include ‘Aje’ by Alikiba and ‘Haijaka Sawa’ by Mbosso.
He recently dropped two parodies dubbed ‘Veve’ and ‘Dere’ using Diamond’s ‘Jeje’ and ‘Gere’ hits.
The two parody videos did really well with both managing over 70,000 views on YouTube in one week.
Notably, Omondi and Diamond enjoy cordial relations with the comedian occasionally gracing the singer’s events both in Kenya and Tanzania.
The comedian is currently in Tanzania for a weekend show in Dar es Salaam.
