Nigerian singer and songwriter Burna Boy has opened up about his recently released album titled ‘Twice As Tall’.

The album, Burna Boy’s, fifth was released last Friday, August 14, and has so far been positively received across the globe.

By the weekend, the album was ranked number one on the United Kingdom (UK) charts and had also been streamed for a record over 7 million times across all platforms.

Speaking during an interview on Power 105.1 FM’s The Breakfast Club, Burna Boy noted that he wanted to name the album African Giant Part 2 but opted not to put pressure on his latest project.

‘African Giant’ was Burna Boy’s fourth studio album that was released last year and was nominated for the Album of the Year awards at the Grammy.

“To be honest, I wanted to call it ‘African Giant’ part two but I did so well and I did not want to put pressure on this album so I named it ‘Twice As Tall,” he said.

On working with American rapper P Diddy, Burna Boy said he was not part of his plans even though he was a person he has always looked up for.

The singer also noted that the ‘Twice As Tall’ album aims at bringing together all Africans across the globe because they are yet to understand the importance of them being united.

“P Diddy is someone I have always looked up to. I was a big lesson though he was not part of the plan at the beginning, it just happened,” Burna Boy said.

“I wanted this album to be a bridge of all black people in the diaspora and thought P Diddy would be the best person to bring out that power,” he added.

Burna Boy has been passionate about the unity of black people, a matter he also talked about when he was awarded the BET Award for Best International Act this year.

Asked on why he is pushing for unity among Africans, Burna Boy noted that the real power for the Africans is in their unity.

“Most of us don’t understand how important it is for us to be together. We tend to forget that our real power comes from the fact that people fear seeing us united as black people. The power of black people is the scariest thing,” he noted.
