Rufftown Records signee Wendy Addo, popularly known by her stage name as Wendy Shay has said that she is the Beyonce of Ghana. She posted a photo of herself on social media rocking a white dress where she claimed to be a National Asset that requires protection.

She posted her photo with caption Ghana, this is your Beyonce. National Asset. Protect it"

The award-winning Afropop and Afrobeats singer took to her twitter and claimed that she and Beyonce are look alikes making her the Beyonce of Ghana and the African continent at large. She went ahead to say that she is a national asset and asked Ghanians to treasure her.

The ‘Stevie Wonder’ hitmaker made the post after the release of Beyonce and Shatta Wale’s ‘Already’ music video that has hit over 8.5M views on YouTube. Before twitting the post, Wendy Shay had appeared in a video where she said that she thought she was the lady in Beyonce and Shatta Wale’s iconic photo. The Rufftown record label signee said that the resemblance between her and Beyonce is real and she had to look again to realize that it was Beyonce and not she who was standing next to Shatta Wale.

Nonetheless, Wendy Shay and Shatta Wale have always been good friends and have gone to an extend of doing a collaboration despite the fact that Shatta Wale stated in public that he does not like featuring female artistes in his line of work.
