M.Anifest Receives an Award from His Alma Mater, Macalester College UK

Award winning Ghanaian rapper M.Anifest becomes one of the recipients of the Distinguished Citizen Alumni Awards from his alma mater, Macalester College in the UK.
The information was revealed by the college in a tweet where the name of the highly talented rapper was on the list of other qualifying members of the University.
“Congratulations to the recipients of the 2020 Distinguished Citizen Alumni Awards: Kwame Amet Tsikata aka @manifestive ’05, Kury Cobham ’90, Arda Kuran ’05, James Ochi ’80, and Ginny Strand ’70! #heymac,” they wrote.
The award is usually aimed at recognizing the alumni who took part in leadership, social, civic and religious activities in the campus. Additionally, the Macalester community gives the award as a way of promoting unselfishness and efficiency in the students for the betterment of the community, nation and word at large.
M.Anifest’s accomplishment in the UK was not just in music, but it extended to books and beyond. The artiste majored in Economics at the Macalester University, after which he was able to scoop the City Pages’ Best Songwriter in the Twin Cities. He went ahead and released five solo albums and did collaborations with top artists such as Erykah Badu, Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers) and Damon Albarn (Gorillaz).
Being a UNICEF ambassador, the rapper strives towards improving the lives of children, youth as well tackle social issues such early marriages in girls and gender –based violence. Moreover, the songwriter works hand in hand with Impact Hub to raise money for enabling Ghanaians to pursue innovative projects.
