5 Youthful Musicians Who Have Potential to Take over the Bongo Music Scene

The Bongo music industry is very dynamic and competitive. We get to see new faces every other time, however, not all stay at the top for long. Some end up being one hit stars and are forgotten.
Over the last few years, a number of big Bongo stars have picked up young stars and nurtured them, creating a new crop of music geniuses that will stick around for some time.
This article looks at young musical stars who have the potential to take over the Bongo music scene:
1. Zuchu
She is the latest signing of the Wasafi label. She is not new to music, and initially did covers before joining Diamond Platnumz’s camp. She has an EP dubbed ‘I am Zuchu’ which has endeared her to Bongo fans. Zuchu has amazing talent, and has been able to fuse her Taarab vibe into the modern Bongo sound creating a nice blend.
In addition to her amazing voice, Zuchu is blessed in songwriting, which many musicians struggle with.
2. Meja Kunta
Kunta is one of the most promising musicians of the Singeli genre that is fast-rising in Tanzania. His unique vocals make him stand out. He is among the artistes working extremely hard to ensure Singeli goes mainstream in Tanzania. He recently did a collaboration with Wasafi’s Lavalava for the song ‘Wanga’. This jam went viral getting recognition from international artistes including Alicia Keys.
3. Ibraah
The ‘One Night Stand’ hit maker has worked hard to get where he is now, considering the struggles he had to go through before being signed by Konde Gang’s Harmonize. Ibraah is a stand out talent that will stick around for a long time. At the moment he is releasing the videos for his EP ‘Steps’.
4. Lava lava
Lava lava has been around for a while now and has treated fans to good music with satisfaction. The Wasafi signed artiste is pure talent in terms of creativity and writing. His music revolves around love and heart breaks. He is the kind of musician that makes you believe in love again.
More should be expected of him going forward, since he has learned from the best in the game.
5. Whozu
He is a lad that can easily be likened to Rayvanny. His style of music is more of the upbeat type. Whozu’s vocals are sensational and his love for pomp and color in the videos make him easily lovable. He has done several hits including ‘Doko’ that became very popular in 2019.
