There is a lot happening in the world and at the moment with the most focus on the USA as they are protesting for the Black Lives Matter movement. We have had a lot of artists speaking on this and some even being in the frontline marching with other protesters. Others such as Queen Naija have passionately spoken on this in song and she is still at it with her new feature by Tee Grizzley, also featuring members of The Detroit Youth Choir on the single dubbed ‘Mr. Officer’.
‘Mr. Officer’ speaks on the police brutality going on against the black community in the USA. It also looks into this specific time where the black community is silencing everyone who seems not to be joining or supporting their cause.
Tee Grizzley lays down his verses in a spoken word/hip-hop style on a heavy hip-hop beat. He is unafraid of what he is speaking on as he encourages the people of the black community to keep on pushing for reform.
Queen Naija introduces us to the song with some clean vocals questioning the police brutality. She is quickly joined by the choir. She does the harmonies over them as they sing the chorus for the rest of the song.
It is a great single, one to listen to as Kenyans as we also struggle with our own cause against police brutality in the country. Catch a vibe with Tee Grizzley, Queen Naija and members of The Detroit Youth Choir on ‘Mr. Officer’.
