Alikiba Omits Diamond in His List of Top 10 Bongo Musicians

Tanzanian singer Alikiba has named the top ten bongo musicians he admires and respects.
Alikiba made the revelation during a live YouTube session with his fans on Sunday evening.
According to the ‘Dodo’ hit maker, top on his list is Dully Sykes. It is worth noting that Alikiba was discovered by Dully Sykes who pushed him to release the ‘Cinderalla’ single in 2007.
The song achieved commercial success by topping charts across East Africa.
Other artistes on his list include Abby Skills, Mr Blue, Jose Mtambo, Chidi Benz, MB Dogg, Mwana FA, Ommy Dimpoz, AY and Abdukiba.

In the past, Alikiba has shared his admiration for rapper AY, who he terms as his role model in the industry.
Following Alikiba’s announcement, most people were keen to note that he omitted Diamond Platnumz, who is considered by many as the best Bongo musician of all time.
He also did not include any artiste from Wasafi records, despite them dominating the Bongo industry for the past few years.
The live session was meant to hype fans ahead of his upcoming single dubbed ‘So hot’. The song’s audio will be released on Monday and followed by a video later in the week.
During the session, he talked about the success of his latest ‘Dodo’ single stating that the success has blown him off.
