MONDAY UPDATE: 5 must know things in the music scene

Hello world! So Monday We meet again! Probably the worst day of the week? I don’t know but this is what most of you think whenever Monday pops out of a short fun-filled weekend with friends and family.

"Monday, We will never be friends—but maybe we can move past our mutual enmity toward a more-positive partnership” well before we share some entertainment juice, to make the best out of Monday we should always make no small plans for they have no power to stir the soul and invite vibrancy into our lives! Let’s think big!

It being a Monday-Friday (with tomorrow being a holiday), these are some of today’s must know things in the music scene:

#1. Bahati's star still rising!

The much anticipated African Music magazine Awards(AFRIMMA) finally happened this weekend. With a couple of Kenyan stars representing the 254, home fans held tight with their fingers crossed wishing their stars nothing but success. Africa’s finest were battling it out for a couple of honorary awards and Bahati once again emerged top! After winning the Groove awards the gospel singer also won the 2014 Best Gospel Artist award! Along Bahati, Dj Josh was another Kenyan who scooped Best African Dj USA while Best Video Director 2014 went to non other than Ogopa Dj’s!. The AFRIMMA awards became the only music awards show organized in the Diaspora that caters to all musical genres including but not limited to: Bongo, Genge amongst others. We at Mdundo wish to congratulate the winners for flying our flag high.

#2.Happy Birthday Victoria Kimani.

The say Birthdays are a new start; fresh beginnings, a time to start new endeavors with new goals. Move forward with fresh confidence and courage...well one of Kenya’s most beautiful as well as amazingly talented female artists is an year older today! Victoria Kimani, the Chocolate city artist who has incredibly put Kenya on the global musical map is famed for her hit joint "Prokoto" featuring ommy dimpoz and Diamond.  #3. King of Kapungala follows Rabbit’s philanthropic acts.

Rememeber the king of kapungala jam? Well the self proclaimed king of kapungala, His majesty Daddy Owen is back after a short break from the musical scene. After Rabbit’s six colour project which mainly focuses on helping the youth, Owen is another high profile celebrity with a heart for the less unfortunate.Daddy owen hinted at featuring Citizen Tv’s Janet Mbugua and the former radio queen Joey Muthengi via his tweet in his Inua Dada campaign, an initiative aimed at mobilizing and stock piling of sanitary pads set to help poor girls who either skip school when they have their periods or simply drop out completely. Worthy course by Daddy owen.

#4. Jaguar's One Centimetre dominates the the top 25 charts!!
