Tanzanian songstress Nandy has responded to criticism regarding her performance during the African Day Benefit Concert.

During the Monday evening performance, Nandy received criticism after focusing more on lip-syncing during her slot.

During the virtual performance, Nandy was on the couch, and fans felt that she was not interactive.

Responding to the criticism on Wednesday, Nandy pointed out that the disconnect in her performance was due to miscommunication with the hosts.

“Chenye naweza i think ni miscommunication baina ya watu wa kule na huku. (All I can say is that I think it was a miscommunication between the hosts and my side),” said Nandy.

Nandy who was performing her ‘Kivuruge’ single did not elaborate further on the miscommunication between the two parties.

The singer was accused of not utilizing the platform very well considering it was a once in a lifetime opportunity.

Nandy alongside Diamond Platnumz were the only musicians from Tanzania to perform during the concert.

The concert was organized by MTV Base and YouTube where all proceeds will go towards helping families affected by the Coronavirus pandemic.

The much publicized concert was hosted by renowned actor Idris Elba.
