Tanzania’s gospel star Goodluck Gozbert has dropped new gospel jam dubbed ‘Simu’.
‘Simu’ is a call to God to come rescue His people from the ongoing corona virus pandemic that has left thousands dead across the globe.
The song is anchored on the Holy Scriptures specifically the book of Jeremiah 33:3 which says “Call unto Me, and I will answer thee, And will tell thee great things, and hidden, which thou knowest not.”
In the new release, he acknowledges that only God has power to end corona, adding that false prophets who were initially vocal have gone silent since the beginning of the pandemic.
“Leo simu yangu napiga kwa imani tu nakuomba sikiliza Daddy unaweza tunusuru na hili na hili, Manabii wale Baba ungewambia kuna Corona au tunadanganywa ni bandia wanayo onaga,Je umekaa kimya ukitazama wanayofanyaga, mbona mwaka jana walitwambia huu ndio mwaka wa bwana…….reads his lyrics in part.
In addition to his call to God, he sensitizes the masses on the need to adhere to safety guidelines provided the government in a bid to curb further spread of the virus.
Barely a day after it premiered, ‘Simu’ has over 30,000 views on YouTube, an indication that it is set to be a massive tune.
Gozbert has been in the limelight for a while now having done various collaborations from East Africa and beyond. He is famed for his hit single ‘Ipo siku’.
